About Dr. Castrillón
 
Fernando Castrillón, Psy.D., earned a M.A. in Sociology from the University of California, where he was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS).
 
In addition to his private practice, he serves as Professor in the Community Mental Health Department at CIIS and is the founding Director of CIIS' The Clinic Without Walls, an innovative psychotherapy clinic serving mostly working poor and immigrant communities who would otherwise not have access to mental health services.
 
Dr. Castrillón is also a Psychoanalyst and Faculty at the Lacanian School of Psychoanalysis in Berkeley, California, and has served on the editorial boards of the journals Ecopsychology and Universitas Psychologicas among others. Dr. Castrillon is an associate editor of The European Journal of Psychoanalysis and is a member of the Institute of Advanced Studies in Psychoanalysis based in Rome, Italy.
 
His clinical, teaching, and research interests include the production of subjectivity (both human and more-than-human), psychoanalysis, community mental health, ecopsychology, poststructuralist social/cultural theory, schizoanalysis, liberatory politics, cosmology, entheogens, the impact of hypervelocity technological change on human psychology and intersubjectivity, the intersection of critical social theory and psychology, the eroticization of anxiety, contemporary approaches to the treatment of psychosis, xenopsychology, violent political movements, war, terrorism and revolution.
 

In 2010 he coedited, with Doug Vakoch, a special double issue of the journal ReVision, entitled “Ecopsychology” & has recently published a co-edited book with Doug Vakoch, entitled Ecopsychology, Phenomenology and the Environment: The Experience of Nature: Springer Press (2014).His latest publications are Translating Angst: Symptoms and Inhibitions in Anglo-American Psychoanalysis (http://www.journal-psychoanalysis.eu/translating-angst/) Feminine Pathologies (http://www.journal-psychoanalysis.eu/category/ejp/number-3/) and Apocalypse Now?
